CODE OF ETHICS
Zachary T. Conway trading as CONWAY, ZACHARY TREVOR aims to conduct business to the highest level of ethical standards and operates in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations as well as applicable industry standards. Zac, as a designer must abide by Zac’s Code of Ethics and ensure that the highest business and ethical standards are enforced throughout their supply chain. Zac reserves the right to immediately terminate any and all agreements with any supplier of materials to be used by Zac that fails to comply with any of the provisions of this Code.
Child Labour
Zac and Suppliers must not use child labour, defined as children under the age of 15 or younger than the legal compulsory age for completing education, whichever is higher. Any employment of minors must be in strict compliance with local laws and regulations.
Human Trafficking and Slavery
All labour employed by Zac and Suppliers, must be voluntary and not performed under threat of penalty or coercion. Zac and Suppliers shall not use any forced, bonded, indentured, illegal, prison, compulsory, or labour in the manufacture and finishing of their jewellery, nor engage in other forms of slavery or human trafficking. Rather, employment should be voluntary and employees should be free to terminate their employment at any time with reasonable notice.
Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment
Zac and Suppliers shall not discriminate against any workers on grounds of gender, age, religion, marital status, race, sexual orientation, disability, disease, nationality, ethnicity, ancestry, pregnancy, maternity, trade union, or political affiliation or any other basis prohibited by applicable law.
Wages, Benefits and Hours of Employment
Zac and Suppliers must act in full accordance with applicable laws and regulations as it relates to minimum wages, standard working hours, overtime pay, paid leave and employee benefits. All employment should be at-will and overtime hours must be voluntary and fully compensated according to local laws and regulations.
Working Conditions
Zac and Suppliers must ensure that work conditions for their employees and within their supply chain are safe and healthy and comply with local health and safety regulations. Adequate measures, systems, protections, and training must be implemented to prevent harm to workers’ health, safety, and well-being. Women who are pregnant will not be required to do work that is prejudicial to the health of the mother or child.
Environmental Conditions
Zac and Suppliers must ensure that manufacturing and related processes are ethically and environmentally responsible and conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations related to environmental protection. Zac and Suppliers must strive to manage their environmental footprint by eliminating or minimizing negative environmental impacts and efficiently managing their use of resources and energy.
Diamond Warranties
Zac and Suppliers represent and warrant that they will adhere to all guidelines and maintain and collect all necessary warranties related to the Kimberley Process Certification and System of Warranties. Zac and Suppliers agree and warrant that any and all diamonds have been purchased from legitimate sources, comply with the Diamond Source Warranty Protocol (and all applicable sanctions thereunder), are conflict-free and are in compliance with the United Nations resolutions.
Conflict Minerals (Gold, Tantalum, Tin and Tungsten)
Zac and Suppliers represent and warrant that they will engage in reasonable due diligence to ensure that they are not using conflict minerals that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups and will support responsible mineral sourcing.
Coloured Gemstones
Zac and Suppliers represent and warrant that they will engage in reasonable due diligence to ensure that all gemstones used in their manufacture are extracted from conflict-free regions and have been mined and processed in a manner that respects human and labour rights and does not inflict environmental damage under prevailing industry standards. Zac and Suppliers shall adhere to all applicable international regulations and restrictions related to the sourcing, trade and sale of gemstones irrespective of where those stones have been cut and from where they have been exported.
